Meet Laura Numeroff when her "Bringing Families Together" tour makes a stop at Next Chapter Bookshop! In Would I Trade My Parents, a boy wishes he could sometimes have his friends' parents instead of his own. Then he remembers his own parents and all the amazing things only they know how to do. Her What Brothers Do Best/What Sisters Do Best flip book celebrates all the wonderful things siblings can do together. Note: some signing restrictions apply for this event. Please limit books brought from home to 2 (two) only.
Start: 2:00 pm
Peter is an ordinary boy who decided to become a dog. He plays fetch, can bark like nobody's business, and just look at him chase the mailman! But, while Peter is good at being a dog, he is not always a good dog. What's a puppy to do when his parents what their real son back? Luckily, Peter has a solution. Love That Puppy is part picture book, part comic book, and totally fun! Jeff will offer an interactive drawing demonstration at this event! Kids: Ask your parents to click on our link below to download our Love That Coloring Page for you. Print it out, draw your picture, and bring it in to Next Chapter Bookshop. We'll hang it up in the store so Jeff Jarka--and everyone--can see it at this event!
Start: 4:00 pm
Laugh with the animals-and David Stokes!  The naturalist, humorist and educator closes our Family Day Triple Feature with a presentation that dispels some myths about turtles, frogs, snakes and bugs. Through stories, songs, movement, riddles and hands on materials, (including live animals!) kids will learn the truth about animals that are often thought of as slimy, creepy or scary. Check out David's website: http://www.dwstokes.com/
