Join Cedarburg native Nancy Olmsted as she shares her son's legacy, his collected thoughts and reflections on the Iraq war from the new book, A Soldier's Words. Nancy's son, Major Andrew Olmsted, kept a blog during his tour of duty in Iraq and many of the posts were published in Denver's paper, the Rocky Mountain News. His posts describe the day-to-day events--funny, boring, dangerous, frustrating--that ultimately become satisfying as he and his men come to understand the local Iraqi culture and establish a friendly working relationship with the Iraqi men they are training. As time passes, Major Olmsted develops a deep understanding of the pros and cons of the war and his part in it.
