Meet Kirk Farber, Oconomowoc native and author of the debut novel Postcards From a Dead Girl. The paperback original follows Sid Higgins, a travel agent in the throes of a crisis. His sales are down. He thinks he might have a brain tumor. He's pretty sure his mother is talking to him from a bordeaux bottle in the basement and his sister thinks he's a hypochondriac. If these were the only things bothering him it wouldn't be so bad. But what's really eating at him is Zoe, his ex-girlfriend who disappeared more than a year a go and the postcards he suddenly begins receiving from her in countless exotic locations. Sid's journey to the truth is a funny, poignant, and engaging read about breaking through when all you want to do is break down.

Kirk worked with Redbird Studios while he was in Wisconsin.

The first work of fiction from Wisconsin native Danielle Trussoni is a riveting tale of secret societies, and ancient conflicts centered on the beautiful and monstrous descendants of angels and humans. Perfect for fans of historical novels and mysteries, Angelology follows Sister Evangeline who was left at St. Rose Convent on the banks of the Hudson River as a twelve-year-old girl. Now 23, the young nun works in the convent's library keeping close watch on its voluminous archives. When a handsome academic inquires about letters between the late Mother Superior and a famous high society philanthropist, Evangeline learns she is part of a secret history that stretches back a thousand years.

We are pleased to welcome doctors from the North Shore Center to Next Chapter Bookshop for a series of free talks beginning in March about parenting challenges and strategies. Scheduled to run through May, the monthly talks are designed to be conversations between the doctor speaking and parents who attend, rather than a one-sided lecture. It's valuable opportunity for parents of children of all ages, and we hope you will be able to join us for one or all of the events.
