Emma Donoghue's Room is an unforgettable reading experience, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Next Chapter Bookshop for this special ticketed, catered event. The book, which has been long-listed for the Man Booker Prize, tells the story of five-year-old Jack and his Ma.

Jack's entire world is the room he shares with his mother. He was born there, and has grown up there. It's where he learns, reads, eats, sleeps and plays. At night, Ma shuts him safely in the wardrobe where he is meant to be asleep when Old Nick visits. It's home to Jack, but to Ma, it is the prison where Old Nick has held her captive for seven years.

Through determination, ingenuity, and motherly love, Ma has created a life for Jack, but she knows it's not enough. She devises a bold escape plan--one that relies on her young son's bravery and a lot of luck. What she doesn't realize is just how unprepared she is for the plan to actually work.

Don't miss out on this incredible book and what's sure to be an unforgettable event with author Emma Donoghue.
