Join us for a special evening with Helen Simonson, author of one of our favorite books of 2010, Major Pettigrew's Last Stand. Set in the fictionalized community of Edgecombe St. Mary in the English countryside, the book is as much about small town manners as it is a unique love story. Major Ernest Pettigrew, an honorable though slightly irascible gentleman, finds his safe and predictable life forever changed when his relationship with the shopkeeper, Jasmina Ali, evolves into something more than friendship.
