Celebrate National Poetry Month with Milwaukee-area poets Judith Harway and Kathleen Dale. Harway’s collection beautifully examines the legacies, intended and accidental, passed down through three generations of a fictional immigrant family. Dale’s chapbook, Ties That Bind, includes her Pushcart Prize-nominated poem The Apparent Immortality of Things.

Judith Harway’s books of poetry include All That is Left (Turning Point Books, 2009) and The Memory Box (Zarigueya Press, 2002). Her work has appeared in dozens of literary journals, and has earned fellowships from the Wisconsin Arts Board, the Hambidge Center and the MacDowell Colony. She is on the faculty of the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, and is a resident author for Project Pursuit in the Mequon-Thiensville Schools.

Kathleen Dale's chapbook, Ties that Bind, was published in 2006 by Finishing Line Press. Her poems have been published or are forthcoming in many periodicals, most recently Main Street Rag, Evansville Review, Rattle, Beloit Poetry Journal, Wisconsin Academy Review (prize winner in Winter’05 issue), The Lyric (best of Winter ’05 and ’06  issues), and Free Verse, which recently nominated one of her poems for a Pushcart. She is currently a poetry editor of the new online magazine Trillium Literary Journal. She has taught writing and other courses at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Marquette University.
