Meet Wendy Webb, author of The Tale of Halcyon Crane, a riveting mix of modern-day ghost story and family drama set on a remote island in the middle of the Great Lakes. When a mysterious letter lands in her mailbox, Webb’s heroine Hallie James sets out to discover the truth about her supposedly long-dead mother. In search of answers, Hallie travels to the island where her mother most recently lived. At first the islanders greet her icily, but when they realize who her mother must have been their cold greetings turn to amazement. Hallie soon realizes that her family’s dark secrets are deeply connected to the history of the strange place.
