Robin Oliveira visited the bookshop on May 26 to read from and sign her debut novel, My Name is Mary Sutter. The book, perfect for book clubs, is a sweeping historical drama set during the Civil War. Mary, a midwife, longs to become a surgeon but the odds are against her in her small town. Determined to overcome prejudices agains women in medicine, Mary flees to Washington D.C. where she will help tend to the leigions of Civil War wounded.
