Storytime with Miss Joyce and Mooshie

Children ages 2-6 are invited to join Miss Joyce and Mooshie for storytime every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
See you Thursday February 9 for Valentine's Day at Storytime!
Mooshie has been busy making plans for his Valentine's Day party all week! This morning at breakfast he said, “I really, really need to get lots of things for my party. So, I will be very happy to do all the dishes, from this delicious breakfast you made, if you take me to the store today.” That sounded like an excellent plan. Later that morning, Mooshie and I picked out heart shaped balloons, three colors of icing to decorate the sugar cookies, paper and stickers for making valentines, a big book box from the bookshop, and for some reason, a large yellow hat. When we had brought everything in the house, Mooshie said, “I'm going to start covering my valentine box with all kinds of hearts and a big bow. Then I'll have a place to keep all of the valentines my friends give me!” A little later, I went to see how Mooshie was doing, but I couldn't find him. I saw his valentine box, now covered in hearts, but no Mooshie! Then I saw Mooshie's copy of Happy Valentine's Day, Curious George written by N. Di Angelo and illustrated in the style of H.A. Rey by Mary O'Keefe Young (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt) sitting next to the box. By the time I finished reading, I knew just where I would find Mooshie! Curious George and his friends are having lots of fun blowing up balloons, decorating cookies, and making valentines. But, when Curious George disappears, it's up to the man in the yellow hat to find him. This week at storytime, we'll share this valentine treat of a book, see what's behind the "fold-out flaps", and discover where Curious George is hiding. Then we'll create a valentine felt board story filled with hearts, act out a song that's just right for Valentine's Day, and much more! See you at storytime!
